The World Of Executive Security
There are a variety of fields of security. Personal security is something most people are concerned with at some time or other in their lives. They may take any number of steps to improve or ensure their security, such as setting up elaborate alarms systems, all the way down to carrying a can of pepper spray with them wherever they go. But there are some people for whom security is a much bigger issue.
For executive security, you are dealing with important people who have vital roles to fulfill. It may just be a famous person getting to and from events, or it could be top government officials taking care of their responsibilities. Whatever it is, you don't often see people in these positions with a can of pepper spray or a personal alarm in their hands. They require much more concentrated security.
We've all seen celebrities or people going to trial or significant diplomats surrounded by a crowd of security guards. This type of executive security is very specific to these people and their specific circumstances. They are often called body guards because they literally put their body in front of the client's while assessing any danger or potential harm. Often these people are making it through crowds where anything might happen. It requires an executive security guard, one with specific training for these types of situations, to best provide protection here.
However, the rich and prominent and otherwise significant people you see on TV are not the only people who uses executive security services. When a big company meets, there may be a need for executive security for the top leaders in the company or for the meetings in general, depending on the situation.
Working in the field of executive security is not suitable for someone who is fresh out of high school. For this type of work you have to have a lot of experience and a good reputation as a security guard. You must have very specific training for working with VIPs and knowing what kinds of dangers might attend them in their daily lives.
Definitely, executive security officers are nearly always armed. This alone requires special training. Apart from shooting experience, there is a mass of information they must know about using their weapon and the laws surrounding the various situations in which they may be required to use it.
Indeed executive security is an occupation for those who have worked their way up in the security industry. This means that executives really have the best of the best protecting them, often former law enforcement officers or guards who have protected very famous and important people.
due to the different lifestyles of normal people and those of the executives and prominent people, there is certainly a need for specific type of security to protect them. This is where executive security comes into play and why it's so important.
